Smoke Screen: Russian MoD Releases Statement on Khan Sheikhoun

Journalist Hadi Abdullah near the scene of the gas attack

Recently the Russian Ministry of Defense released a statement regarding the 4/4 Khan Sheikhoun sarin attacks. Below is a refutation of almost every point they made. As always, but especially with the Russian MoD, verify every statement they make. More often than not, they’re fabricating their own reality.

russian ministry of defense:

Russian Defence Ministry comments on investigation of chemical weapons usage in Khan Sheikhoun, Syria

reality:

This will be the only truthful statement in the entirety of the press release.

RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENSE:

Two weeks passed after the alleged use of chemical weapons in Khan Sheikhoun. However, two videos made by the White Helmets are the only ‘evidence’ of the chemical weapon use.

reality:

There are videos all over YouTube of the attack, and a simple search for “Khan Sheikhoun Attack” will yield results proving as much. This playlist contains many of them, and we have linked some below as well (consider all these links to be incredibly disturbing).

Furthermore, beyond the videos above there was a recent statement from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) confirming that there was likely a chemical weapons use in Syria on April 4th.

OPCW Executive Council Meets to Address Alleged Use of Chemical Weapons in the Syrian Arab Republic:

The Director-General shared with the Executive Council the immediate steps taken by Technical Secretariat experts to analyse the available information and their preliminary assessment that this was a credible allegation.

So, once again, a Russian Ministry of Defense statement is full of holes. Proceeding onto the next point:

RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENSE:

American, Britain, or European TV channels showed no ‘hero’ savior or injured person except for these two videos.

reality:

Again, blatantly untrue.

RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENSE:

The chemical weapon impact zone, where civilians were to be evacuated from, has not been determined yet.

reality:

As this video taken by Hadi Abdullah shows, the impact zone has been determined.

RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENSE:

Life in the town runs on its way. There are no requests for special medicaments, antidotes, decontaminants made by civilians or pseudo rescuers.

Reality:

Green shades: Opposition — Red: Government

Considering the fact that Khan Sheikhoun is behind opposition frontlines, it seems highly unlikely that the citizens and first responders in that town would request supplies from the government, even more-so when you think about who dropped the sarin in the first place.

RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENSE:

Meanwhile, the number of unbiased experts, especially from western countries, asking these obvious questions increases every day. These specialists cannot explain how representatives of the White Helmets managed to work for such a long period of time and remain alive without gas masks and special protection equipment. All doubts of professionals prove that the storm of accusations made by western politicians, who had ‘assigned the guilty’ without elementary inspection and objective investigation, is unsubstantiated.

Reality:

Sarin is deliberately used in a military setting due to its rapid dissipation factor and the proximity with which friendly troops can be safely deployed pre-attack. This allows the attacking force to clear out enemy troop concentrations with the sarin and then hold the territory with their own troops without poisoning friendly forces. Thus, it isn’t out of the question that emergency workers would be treating people with only rudimentary safety equipment because the vapor, the most lethal aspect of a sarin attack, has already dissipated.

RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENSE:

Now it is clear that the ‘schemers’ have no plan for qualified investigation in Khan Sheikhoun as well as they had no one in Iran and Libya.

reality:

The world did have a plan to investigate what happened on 4/4. Somebody vetoed it.
